Featuring a lead core, these bullets are engineered with long grooves in their gilding metal jackets, along with a flat profile and patented Flex Tip® inserts within their hollowpoint cavities, ensuring reliable expansion even at low velocities. With canneleures providing a positive case crimp, the Sub-X® bullets are ideal for semiautomatic weapons.
These bullets expand effectively at subsonic velocities, thanks to Hornady's patented Flex Tip® technology, which enables expansion at speeds as low as 900 fps. Their performance is proven, meeting FBI protocol for terminal ballistic test requirements.
