Toolcraft Bolt Carrier Groups and Bolts
Toolcraft manufactures AR-15, M16 and large-frame AR bolt carriers at its precision-machining facility in Marion, North Carolina. The company supplies complete bolt carrier groups, carriers and bolt assemblies in a broad range of cartridge configurations, materials and surface finishes.
Huckleberry Arms carries Toolcraft components for builders who want a proven, serviceable bolt carrier group without paying for branding that does not improve the function of the rifle. Available configurations include standard 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout bolt carrier groups, cartridge-specific 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC assemblies, .308 AR bolt carrier groups and double-ejector configurations for cartridges such as 6.5 Creedmoor.

Materials and Finish Options
Toolcraft manufactures bolt carriers from materials including 8620 steel and offers bolts made from 9310 steel or Carpenter 158, depending on the individual configuration. Available Huckleberry Arms listings may include black nitride, nickel boron, Diamond-Like Carbon and colored PVD finishes.
Finish affects more than appearance. Black nitride provides a hard, low-maintenance surface without adding a separate plated layer. Nickel boron and DLC configurations offer slicker surfaces that may simplify routine cleaning, while Toolcraft's colored PVD carriers provide a distinctive appearance for builds where the carrier is visible through the ejection port.
Always review the individual product specifications rather than selecting a bolt carrier group by finish alone. Bolt material, bolt-face dimensions, ejector configuration, firing-pin size and compatibility with the barrel extension are more important than color.
Confirm Platform and Cartridge Compatibility
Bolt carrier groups are not universally interchangeable across every AR-pattern rifle. Confirm whether the firearm uses an AR-15 or large-frame .308-style action, then verify the required bolt face for the specific cartridge. A standard 5.56 NATO bolt works with .300 Blackout, but it is not the correct bolt for 6.5 Grendel, 6mm ARC or .22 ARC.
Large-frame AR rifles also lack the universal dimensional standardization found across most AR-15 components. Confirm compatibility with the upper receiver, barrel extension, firing system and intended cartridge before installation. Headspace should be verified whenever a bolt and barrel have not previously been checked together.
