The Ballistic Advantage BAPSS20XT1LI is a Premium Series 9mm replacement barrel for compatible SIG P320 Compact and Carry-size pistols. It combines hardened 416R stainless-steel construction with a light-gray PVD finish, non-fluted exterior, 1:10 twist and 1/2x28 muzzle threads.
This exact configuration includes the barrel provision required for a compatible mechanical loaded chamber indicator. Ballistic Advantage offers closely related P320 barrels with and without the LCI provision, making the final letter in the manufacturer part number an important distinction. BAPSS20XT1LI is the LCI model; BAPSS20XT1L is the separate no-LCI version.
Confirmed P320 Compatibility
Ballistic Advantage lists this barrel for the P320 Nitron Compact, P320 Compact, M18, P320-AXG Carry and P320 XCarry Legion. It does not support the P320-XFIVE Legion.
The XCarry Legion and XFIVE Legion are different configurations. The presence of “Legion” in a pistol’s model name is therefore not enough to establish compatibility. Confirm the exact pistol model, slide length and loaded-chamber-indicator configuration before ordering.
LCI-Compatible Barrel Configuration
BAPSS20XT1LI is manufactured with an LCI provision for compatible P320 slides that use a mechanical loaded chamber indicator. This makes it distinct from non-LCI barrels that may require modification when installed in pistols originally configured with a factory LCI.
Ballistic Advantage specifically warns that modification is required to run its non-LCI barrels in certain factory LCI configurations. That warning applies to the separate no-LCI barrel. Buyers should choose this LCI model when the pistol and slide are intended to retain the compatible factory-style loaded chamber indicator system.
A loaded chamber indicator is an additional visual or tactile reference and is never a substitute for proper firearm-handling procedures. Always treat the firearm as loaded until its condition has been personally and physically verified.
Hardened 416R Stainless-Steel Construction
Ballistic Advantage manufactures its Premium Series pistol barrels from hardened 416R stainless steel. The manufacturer selected this material for its combination of strength, toughness, ductility and corrosion resistance.
Each barrel is honed, lapped and tumbled as part of the manufacturing process. Ballistic Advantage states that the bore is held to less than .0001-inch deviation and that the barrel does not require a traditional break-in period.
Light-Gray PVD Finish
The hardened stainless-steel barrel receives a light-gray physical vapor deposition finish. The PVD coating provides a durable exterior surface while giving the barrel a contrasting metallic-gray appearance through the slide’s ejection port and any compatible slide openings.
This model uses a smooth, non-fluted exterior. Buyers looking for spiral or Bomber-style fluting should select the corresponding manufacturer configuration rather than assuming those features are shared across the P320 barrel line.
1/2x28 Muzzle Threads
The barrel uses 1/2x28 muzzle threads, a common thread pattern for 9mm pistol suppressors, compensators and other compatible muzzle devices. Ballistic Advantage lists the threaded overall length as 4.650 inches.
Thread pattern alone does not establish accessory compatibility. Confirm the muzzle device’s caliber, thread specification, piston or mounting system, required clearances and alignment before use. A suppressor intended for a tilting-barrel pistol will generally require the appropriate manufacturer-approved piston and booster assembly.
SAAMI-Specification 9mm Chamber
Ballistic Advantage states that its pistol barrels meet SAAMI chamber specifications. This barrel uses a 1:10 twist rate and is chambered for 9mm ammunition appropriate for the host pistol.
Use only factory-loaded ammunition of the correct caliber and pressure specification unless the firearm and ammunition manufacturers expressly approve otherwise. Inspect the completed pistol for proper lockup, cycling and safe operation before live-fire use.
Factory-Firearm Testing and Aftermarket Slide Fitment
Ballistic Advantage tests its barrels in complete factory firearms. The manufacturer cautions that dimensional differences among aftermarket slides and other components prevent it from guaranteeing fitment or performance in every custom combination.
A replacement barrel should never be forced into battery or used when lockup, headspace, cycling or component clearance is questionable. Some pistol-barrel installations may require inspection or fitting by a qualified gunsmith.
Choosing Between the LCI and No-LCI Versions
Choose BAPSS20XT1LI when the desired configuration is a light-gray PVD, non-fluted, threaded P320 Compact/XCarry barrel with an LCI provision. Choose BAPSS20XT1L only when a non-LCI barrel is appropriate for the specific pistol and slide configuration.
The two barrels otherwise share several primary specifications, including 9mm chambering, hardened 416R stainless-steel construction, light-gray PVD finish, 1:10 twist and 1/2x28 muzzle threads. The LCI provision is the critical difference and should be confirmed before purchase.
