Aero Precision Ultralight 30mm SPR Scope Mount

The Aero Precision Ultralight APRA210600 combines a lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum body with an SPR-profile layout designed for riflescopes with 30mm main tubes. It attaches to AR-type upper receivers equipped with Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rails and weighs only 3.36 ounces.

The black anodized mount uses a cross-slot keyway to engage the receiver rail and help resist movement under recoil. It is manufactured in the United States and provides a streamlined alternative to heavier conventional scope-ring and base combinations.

Two-Inch Forward Ring Placement

The defining feature of the SPR configuration is its rear ring, which Aero Precision positions two inches forward compared with the non-extended Standard profile. This provides additional room to move the riflescope forward while retaining both rings on the optic’s available main-tube mounting area.

That additional positioning range can help establish proper eye relief on an AR-pattern rifle, particularly when using optics with limited mounting space or when the shooter’s stock position requires the scope to sit farther forward.

Standard, Extended or SPR?

Aero Precision offers several Ultralight mounting profiles. The Standard model uses the conventional ring position, the Extended model moves the rear ring one inch forward and this SPR model moves it two inches forward.

The SPR profile offers the greatest forward positioning of the three. The correct version depends on the scope’s available straight-tube mounting area, eye-relief requirements and the shooter’s preferred stock position. More forward placement is useful only when it matches the geometry of the rifle and optic.

Made for 30mm Scope Tubes

APRA210600 uses 30mm scope rings. The measurement refers to the diameter of the scope’s main tube rather than its objective lens. It is not compatible with scopes using 1-inch or 34mm main tubes.

Before ordering, verify the optic’s main-tube diameter, available ring-placement area, objective clearance and required eye relief. A scope advertised by objective diameter may still use a different main-tube size.

Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny Compatibility

The mount is designed for AR-type upper receivers with Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rails. Its cross-slot keyway engages a rail slot to help manage recoil forces and maintain a secure mechanical interface.

The complete mount should remain on the upper receiver rather than bridging the upper receiver and a free-floating handguard. Bridging those components can place stress on the optic and permit alignment changes as the handguard flexes independently of the receiver.

Ultralight Aluminum Construction

The SPR mount is manufactured from 6061-T6 extruded aluminum and protected by a black anodized finish. Aero Precision lists the completed mount at 3.36 ounces, limiting the amount of additional weight carried above the receiver.

Its combination of low weight, forward optic placement and AR-specific rail compatibility makes APRA210600 well suited to lightweight carbines, precision-oriented AR builds and general-purpose rifles using a 30mm riflescope.

Installation and Torque

Aero Precision lists a screw-torque specification of 15 inch-pounds for this mount. Use an appropriate inch-pound torque driver and follow both Aero Precision’s installation instructions and the scope manufacturer’s mounting recommendations.

Set the scope’s eye relief and reticle alignment before final tightening. Tighten the hardware evenly, verify that the mount is fully seated in the Picatinny cross slot and do not exceed the applicable manufacturer specification.
