Modern AAC Blackout Flash Hider for 5.56 and .223 Rifles
The AAC Blackout SR-105452 is a suppressor-mount flash hider for compatible 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington rifles with 1/2x28 muzzle threads. It provides flash-hider functionality when the suppressor is removed while placing AAC’s modern mounting interface directly on the host firearm.
The 5.56mm bore and common 1/2x28 barrel thread make this model a natural fit for properly configured AR-15 rifles, short-barreled rifles and other compatible 5.56 or .223 hosts. Always verify the firearm’s actual muzzle thread, bore clearance and shoulder geometry before installation.
Threaded 1x16LH Taper Interface
The suppressor side of the device uses AAC’s modern 1x16 left-hand threaded taper interface. As the compatible suppressor mount threads onto the flash hider, the mating taper surfaces provide secure, repeatable alignment and lockup.
AAC designed this system for suppressed firing schedules involving repeated installation, removal and heat cycles. The threaded taper arrangement does not depend on the toothed ratchets or retaining latches found on older AAC mounting systems.
Not a Legacy 51T or 90T Mount
SR-105452 is not an AAC 51T or 90T muzzle device. Suppressors and adapters made exclusively for those legacy latch systems will not attach to this 1x16LH taper mount.
Before ordering, confirm that the suppressor already has AAC’s matching 1x16LH interface or can accept the appropriate AAC HUB mount. Matching the manufacturer alone is not enough because AAC has produced several mechanically different mounting systems.
Using the Flash Hider with a HUB Suppressor
A compatible HUB-pattern suppressor can use this muzzle device when fitted with AAC’s matching 1x16LH HUB Mount. The HUB mount installs in a suppressor with the industry-standard 1.375x24 rear interface and provides the female 1x16LH threads and mating taper required by this flash hider.
The flash hider does not attach directly to every HUB suppressor without that compatible mount. The suppressor must also be rated for 5.56 NATO or .223 Remington, the host firearm’s barrel length and the intended firing schedule.
Installation and Alignment
Install the muzzle device only on an unloaded firearm with compatible 1/2x28 muzzle threads and adequate bore clearance. Follow AAC’s current flash-hider installation instructions and use only the installation components, thread treatment and procedures authorized by the manufacturer.
Suppressor alignment should be checked before firing with a suppressor attached, especially after installing a new muzzle device or changing host firearms. If thread condition, shoulder geometry or alignment is uncertain, installation should be completed or inspected by a qualified gunsmith.
Who Should Choose SR-105452?
This model is intended for someone building around AAC’s current threaded taper ecosystem on a 5.56 NATO or .223 Remington host. It is a logical choice for a compatible AAC suppressor or a HUB-pattern suppressor equipped with AAC’s 1x16LH HUB Mount.
Someone using an AAC 51T, 90T or another manufacturer’s proprietary mounting system should select the muzzle device made specifically for that interface instead.
