A Compact Xeno Host Device for 5/8x24 PCCs
The Dead Air Xeno Pistol Wee Brake DA126 is a compact 9mm-bore muzzle device for compatible pistol-caliber carbines and sub-guns threaded 5/8x24. It serves two purposes: it can remain on the host as a compact brake when fired unsuppressed, and it provides the barrel-side mounting interface for a Dead Air Xeno suppressor setup.
This is not a complete suppressor mount by itself. The DA126 installs on the firearm barrel, but a compatible Dead Air Xeno Adapter must also be installed in the suppressor before the two components can connect. Select that adapter around the suppressor's rear mounting interface, not simply around the firearm's barrel thread.
How the Xeno System Fits Together
A complete Xeno setup has three components: the Xeno muzzle device on the firearm, the appropriate Xeno adapter installed in the suppressor, and the suppressor itself. The DA126 is the host-side component for a 5/8x24 barrel. It does not work with KeyMo, ASR, direct-thread, or other mounting systems unless the suppressor has first been converted to a compatible Xeno interface.
Dead Air uses a taper and left-hand mating thread arrangement for the Xeno system. The goal is a compact, repeatable suppressor connection that does not require the muzzle device to sit deeply inside the suppressor blast chamber.
Why Choose the Pistol Wee Brake?
The Pistol Wee Brake is intended for shooters building a compact suppressor-mount solution around a pistol-caliber carbine or sub-gun. Its small size and 9mm through bore make it a natural fit for a dedicated PCC host where a larger rifle-oriented brake would be unnecessary.
It is particularly useful for someone who wants to move a compatible suppressor between multiple Xeno-equipped hosts while keeping each firearm configured with its own compact muzzle device. The Xeno system makes the most sense when the owner values a standardized mounting interface across more than one firearm.
5/8x24 Thread and 9mm Bore Considerations
DA126 is specifically the 5/8x24 version with a 9mm through bore. Confirm the barrel's actual muzzle-thread specification before ordering. A 5/8x24 thread pattern is not enough by itself; verify the firearm's shoulder geometry, bore clearance, suppressor rating, and complete mount-system compatibility before live fire.
This is not appropriate for .45-caliber projectiles. The 9mm bore should also not be treated as a blanket approval for every firearm or cartridge that happens to use a 5/8x24 muzzle thread. Confirm the complete host, ammunition, muzzle device, adapter, and suppressor combination before use.
Who Should Choose DA126?
DA126 is the right choice for an owner of a compatible 5/8x24-threaded PCC or sub-gun who wants to build around the Dead Air Xeno mounting system. It is a practical fit for a compact 9mm host intended to use a compatible suppressor with the proper Xeno adapter installed.
It is not the right choice for a .45-caliber host, a firearm requiring a different barrel-thread pattern, or a shooter who wants a direct-thread, KeyMo, ASR, or other non-Xeno suppressor interface.
