A Very Lightweight, High-Velocity Approach to 9mm Defense

The Norma NXD 9mm Luger 65 Grain load takes a fundamentally different approach from conventional 115-, 124- and 147-grain defensive ammunition.

65-Grain Copper-Polymer Matrix Projectile

The NXD projectile is not a conventional solid-copper bullet.

It is manufactured from an injection-molded copper-polymer matrix. The construction allows Norma to produce a full-caliber 9mm projectile at substantially lower weight than traditional lead-core or monolithic copper defensive bullets.

At only 65 grains, the projectile weighs roughly half as much as many conventional 124- or 147-grain 9mm bullets, allowing substantially higher velocity.

NXD Means Non-eXpanding Defense

Unlike a conventional jacketed hollow point, the NXD projectile does not use an open cavity and is not intended to mushroom after impact.

Instead, the nose incorporates engineered flutes. Norma designed those channels to redirect fluid outward as the projectile travels through a fluid medium rather than depending on expansion to increase projectile diameter.
