Direct-Thread a Bravo / HUB Suppressor to an 11/16x24 Barrel
The SilencerCo AC2439 Bravo Direct Thread Mount provides a simple way to attach a compatible Bravo / HUB-pattern suppressor directly to a firearm with 11/16x24 muzzle threads.
Rather than leaving a separate muzzle brake or flash hider installed on the firearm, the AC2439 installs in the rear of the suppressor and provides the female 11/16x24 interface that threads directly onto the barrel.
For a dedicated suppressed rifle where fast suppressor removal is less important than minimizing length, weight and complexity, direct thread is one of the cleanest mounting methods available.
11/16x24 for Large-Bore Rifle Applications
SilencerCo's own barrel-thread specification identifies 11/16x24 as a thread pattern most commonly associated with .450-caliber rifles.
That makes AC2439 particularly relevant to compatible large-bore hosts such as certain .45-70 Government and .458-caliber rifles that use 11/16x24 muzzle threads.
Thread pitch alone does not establish suppressor compatibility. Always verify the firearm's actual barrel threads, cartridge, bullet diameter and the suppressor's caliber rating before installation.
Bravo Is the Industry-Standard HUB Pattern
SilencerCo's Bravo mounting pattern uses 1.375x24 rear threads, the interface now widely referred to throughout the suppressor industry as HUB.
SilencerCo originally introduced this mounting format with the Omega 300, and the 1.375x24 pattern was subsequently adopted by numerous suppressor manufacturers.
That widespread support makes Bravo / HUB one of the most flexible suppressor mounting standards available.
Important: Bravo / HUB Describes the Suppressor Side
The AC2439 has two separate interfaces that should not be confused:
- Suppressor side: Bravo / HUB 1.375x24
- Firearm side: 11/16x24 female barrel thread
The mount screws into the rear of a compatible Bravo/HUB suppressor. The suppressor-and-mount assembly then threads directly onto the firearm's 11/16x24 muzzle.
Shorter Than an ASR Mounting Setup
One of the primary advantages of SilencerCo's direct-thread mount is reduced overall length.
SilencerCo states that its Bravo Direct Thread Mount configuration shortens the overall length of the suppressor by approximately 3/4" compared with using the company's ASR Mount.
That difference is useful on hunting rifles, lever guns and other firearms where minimizing added muzzle length is more important than having a quick-detach suppressor system.
Fewer Parts and No Separate Muzzle Device
A direct-thread system eliminates the separate suppressor muzzle brake or flash hider required by many QD mounting systems.
Instead, the mounting chain is simply:
- Threaded barrel
- Bravo Direct Thread Mount
- Compatible suppressor
There is no locking collar, ratchet, spring or secondary firearm-side suppressor mount involved.
The reduced component count makes direct thread especially attractive for a suppressor that will spend most of its time on one particular rifle.
A Natural Pairing for the SilencerCo Hybrid 46
SilencerCo currently lists the Hybrid 46 among the suppressors compatible with its Bravo Direct Thread Mount family.
For AC2439 specifically, the Hybrid 46 is an especially logical pairing because many 11/16x24 hosts are large-bore rifles that require the Hybrid 46's larger projectile clearance.
This can include appropriately threaded .45-70 and .458-caliber hosts, provided the specific firearm configuration falls within SilencerCo's caliber and barrel-length requirements.
Physical Mount Compatibility Does Not Equal Caliber Compatibility
This is an important distinction with Bravo / HUB mounting components.
SilencerCo currently lists the Bravo Direct Thread Mount family as compatible with suppressors including the Omega 300, Hybrid 46 and Scythe-Ti.
That means the mount can physically interface with those suppressors through the Bravo / HUB rear thread pattern. It does not mean every suppressor can safely fire every cartridge associated with an 11/16x24 barrel.
For example, a mount may physically thread into a .30-caliber Bravo suppressor while the host rifle fires a projectile far too large to pass safely through that suppressor.
Always verify suppressor caliber and barrel-length ratings independently from mount compatibility.
Not the Same as a Bravo ASR Mount
The AC2439 should not be confused with the SilencerCo Bravo ASR Mount.
The ASR system uses an ASR muzzle brake or flash hider installed on the firearm and a locking ASR mount installed in the suppressor.
The AC2439 eliminates that intermediate muzzle device and attaches the suppressor directly to the barrel instead.
Choose ASR when faster suppressor installation and removal or a permanent firearm-side muzzle device is desirable. Choose direct thread when simplicity, minimum length and minimum mounting-system weight are higher priorities.
Fixed-Barrel Application
SilencerCo describes its Direct Thread Mounts as a simple solution for attaching compatible silencers to most fixed-barrel firearms.
Direct-thread rifle mounts such as AC2439 are rigid mounting systems and are not substitutes for the piston / Nielsen-device systems required by many recoil-operated tilting-barrel handguns.
11/16x24 Mounting Shoulder
SilencerCo's current 11/16x24 barrel-thread drawing specifies that its centerfire rifle accessories in this thread pattern shoulder behind the muzzle threads.
Correct barrel-thread geometry, shoulder dimensions and bore concentricity are important whenever installing a suppressor.
If the firearm's muzzle dimensions or thread quality are uncertain, they should be inspected before live fire.
Ideal for a Dedicated Suppressed Rifle
Direct thread is particularly appealing on a rifle where the suppressor will remain installed for most of its use.
A suppressed hunting rifle, lever gun or large-bore field rifle does not necessarily benefit from carrying the additional length and complexity of a quick-detach system if the suppressor rarely comes off.
For that type of setup, the AC2439 combines the industry-standard Bravo/HUB suppressor interface with the less-common 11/16x24 barrel thread in a compact factory SilencerCo mount.
Popular Pairings
-
SilencerCo Hybrid 46
A natural SilencerCo suppressor pairing for appropriately threaded large-bore rifles because the Hybrid 46 combines the Bravo mounting interface with bore clearance for cartridges larger than conventional .30-caliber suppressors can accommodate.
-
11/16x24 .45-70 Rifles
Many modern threaded .45-70 rifles use 11/16x24 muzzle threads, making AC2439 useful when the goal is a simple direct-thread suppressor installation.
-
Compatible .458-Caliber Rifles
11/16x24 is also encountered on some .458-caliber rifle barrels. Verify the actual barrel thread and suppressor caliber rating before use.
