Schmid Inside Pro Line Elite 3.5-Pound Fire Control Group
The Schmid Inside Pro Line Elite SI-FCG-PRO-ELT is a complete component-style fire control group for compatible AR-pattern lower receivers. It combines single-stage operation with a traditional curved trigger shoe, phosphate-finished components and a manufacturer-listed pull weight of 3.5 pounds.
The package contains the trigger, hammer, disconnector, associated operating springs and both fire-control pins. That makes it a practical choice for a new lower build, replacement of an existing fire control group or an upgrade from a heavier single-stage trigger.
Single-Stage 3.5-Pound Configuration
This fire control group uses single-stage operation. Instead of dividing the trigger press into a first stage followed by a separate second-stage wall, the trigger moves through one continuous operating stage before release.
Schmid lists the pull weight at 3.5 pounds. Actual measured pull can vary with the lower receiver, parts fit, lubrication, installation and measuring method, so the specification should be treated as a nominal manufacturer rating rather than a guaranteed measurement in every assembled rifle.
Traditional Curved Trigger Shoe
The curved trigger shoe provides a familiar contact surface for shooters accustomed to conventional AR-pattern triggers. It preserves the traditional trigger profile while offering a lighter nominal pull than many service-weight fire control groups.
A curved shoe can also provide a natural reference point near the center of the trigger face. Trigger-shoe preference remains personal, and shooters who prefer a straighter contact surface may want to compare this model with Schmid’s flat-trigger configurations.
Phosphate-Finished Components
Schmid specifies a phosphate finish for the Pro Line Elite fire control group. Phosphate is a traditional functional finish commonly used on internal firearm components and should be kept properly cleaned and lubricated according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
This version should not be confused with Schmid’s Nickel Boron, Nickel PTFE or DLC-finished fire control groups. SI-FCG-PRO-ELT is specifically the phosphate-finished Pro Line Elite model.
Complete Component-Style Fire Control Group
The Pro Line Elite is a traditional multi-piece fire control group rather than a self-contained cassette trigger. Its individual trigger, hammer and disconnector install directly into a compatible lower receiver using the included trigger and hammer pins.
The included components are:
- Curved trigger
- Hammer
- Disconnector
- Hammer spring
- Trigger spring
- Disconnector spring
- Hammer pin
- Trigger pin
What Is Not Included?
This package supplies the fire control group components listed above. It does not include a lower receiver, safety selector, selector detent or spring, pistol grip, grip hardware, bolt catch, magazine catch, takedown pins, buffer assembly or installation tools.
For a new stripped-lower build, pair it with a compatible lower parts kit that omits the fire control group. That avoids purchasing a second trigger, hammer and disconnector set that would immediately be replaced.
Who Should Choose the Pro Line Elite?
The Pro Line Elite is aimed at the builder who wants a lighter 3.5-pound single-stage trigger without moving to a two-stage mechanism or self-contained cassette assembly. Its curved shoe and phosphate finish retain the general layout and appearance of a traditional AR fire control group.
Shooters who want a staged take-up and defined second-stage wall should consider one of Schmid’s two-stage fire control groups. Those prioritizing a different surface treatment can compare Schmid’s Nickel Boron, Nickel PTFE and DLC-finished configurations.
Installation and Function Check
Fire control components must be installed with the firearm completely unloaded and all ammunition removed from the work area. Confirm lower-receiver compatibility and follow the manufacturer’s assembly instructions.
After installation, verify correct safety-selector operation, trigger reset, hammer engagement and disconnector function before live fire. Do not use the firearm if the hammer follows the bolt carrier, the selector does not block trigger movement as intended or any other function is uncertain. Installation should be performed or inspected by a qualified gunsmith when the installer lacks the necessary tools or experience.
