Genuine Ruger BX-15 .22 LR Factory Magazine
The Ruger BX-15 Model 90463 is a genuine factory magazine that provides compatible Ruger rimfire firearms with a 15-round capacity. Chambered specifically for .22 Long Rifle, it combines Ruger’s factory feed geometry with a durable extended body and the familiar magazine interface used by the 10/22 family.
Ruger states that the BX-15 has been tested and proven to feed as reliably as the standard BX-1 10-round rotary magazine. Because it is a factory Ruger component, its body, feed lips, spring and follower are designed to work together as a complete feeding system rather than as a collection of aftermarket replacement parts.
Intermediate Capacity with a More Compact Profile
The BX-15 occupies a useful middle position between Ruger’s flush-fitting 10-round BX-1 and the longer 25-round BX-25. Its 15-round capacity adds five cartridges over the standard rotary magazine while maintaining a shorter profile than a full-length BX-25.
That shorter extended body can be especially useful when firing from the prone position, shooting from a bench or rest, carrying magazines in smaller pouches, or configuring a compact 10/22 Takedown or 22 Charger package. It also provides a larger gripping surface than a flush-fitting BX-1 when inserting or removing the magazine.
Factory-Engineered Feeding Components
The BX-15 uses stainless-steel feed lips to present cartridges at the proper angle as they move from the magazine into the firearm. A constant-force spring maintains upward pressure throughout the magazine’s operating range, helping support consistent feeding from the first cartridge through the last.
A self-lubricating anti-tilt follower helps keep cartridges aligned inside the magazine body. The durable glass-filled nylon housing protects the internal feeding components while keeping the magazine reasonably light and resistant to normal range and field handling.
Compatible Ruger .22 LR Firearms
Ruger lists the BX-15 for factory-original 10/22 rifles, SR-22 rifles and 22 Charger pistols chambered in .22 Long Rifle. It also fits compatible .22 LR Ruger American Rimfire and Ruger 77/22 rifles designed to use the 10/22-pattern magazine interface.
Individual firearm configurations can vary, particularly when aftermarket receivers, stocks, chassis systems or magazine-release components are installed. Confirm the firearm’s exact model, chambering and magazine pattern before ordering.
Not the BX-15 Magnum Magazine
Model 90463 is the .22 Long Rifle BX-15. It is not the visually similar BX-15 Magnum magazine intended for compatible firearms chambered in .22 WMR or .17 HMR.
This magazine should not be used in a 10/22 Magnum, Ruger Precision Rimfire Magnum, 77/17 or another firearm requiring the longer magnum-rimfire magazine pattern. It is also not compatible with Ruger Mark-series pistols, LCP-series pistols, Wrangler revolvers or other firearms that use a different magazine design.
One Magazine per Package
Ruger 90463 contains one black BX-15 magazine with a 15-round capacity. It is not a two-pack and should not be confused with the Ruger BX-25 two-magazine value pack sold under Model 90548.
The BX-15 is a practical choice for customers who want more capacity than a BX-1 without the additional length of a 25-round magazine. Its factory construction also makes it a natural spare for training, recreational shooting, competition, small-game use and emergency preparedness.
