The Samson Hannibal Rail 03-00265-11 transforms a compatible Ruger Mini-14 or Mini Thirty by replacing the factory plastic handguard with a precision-machined aluminum mounting platform for optics and accessories.

This exact version is finished in Natural Gray and is designed for Mini-14 rifles with the later factory flanged barrel configuration as well as compatible Mini Thirty rifles.

Rather than forcing the Mini platform into an AR-style layout, the Hannibal Rail works with the rifle's existing architecture and gives the shooter a low, forward-mounted optic solution while preserving the unmistakable Mini-14 / Mini Thirty handling characteristics.

Important Mini-14 Fitment: 2008 & Later / 580-Series

Samson manufactures two different Hannibal Rail configurations, and selecting the correct version is critical.

Samson 03-00265-11 is the later factory-flanged-barrel version.

• Ruger Mini-14: Factory flanged barrel, generally 2008 and later, serial number prefix beginning with 580 or higher
• Ruger Mini Thirty: Samson specifies the later Hannibal Rail configuration for Mini Thirty rifles

This is not the Hannibal Rail intended for older Mini-14 rifles using the factory straight pencil barrel. Samson uses a different rail for those rifles.

If there is any uncertainty about barrel configuration or production year, verify the rifle's serial number and barrel style before installation.

Replaces the Factory Plastic Handguard

The Hannibal Rail installs in place of the Ruger's original plastic upper handguard.

Samson mounts the assembly directly around the barrel using the supplied clamp system, creating a rigid accessory platform without requiring the rifle to use a specialized replacement stock.

Because the rail mounts independently of the stock, Samson states that it remains compatible with most aftermarket Mini-14 stocks.

Direct Micro Red Dot Mounting

One of the Hannibal Rail's most useful features is its ability to mount several common micro-red-dot footprints directly to the rail without first attaching the optic to a separate Picatinny adapter.

Optic compatibility should still be verified before ordering. Samson specifically notes that variations in optic footprints, screw locations and thread pitch can prevent some otherwise similar red dots from fitting.

Forward-Mounted Optic Position

The Hannibal Rail places a micro red dot forward of the Mini's action.

For a non-magnified reflex sight, that position can provide a wide field of view and leaves the receiver area relatively uncluttered while retaining the fast target-acquisition characteristics of a red dot.

It also suits the Mini platform aesthetically: the result has more in common with a practical scout-style or ranch-rifle setup than a tall receiver-mounted AR-style optic arrangement.

Integrated Picatinny Rail

The top of the Hannibal Rail also incorporates a Picatinny accessory rail.

This gives the owner an additional mounting option when a direct-mounted micro optic is not desired and provides useful rail space for compatible accessories.

The combination of direct optic mounting and conventional Picatinny support gives the Hannibal Rail considerably more flexibility than a simple replacement handguard.

Included Side Picatinny Rail & QD Sling Mount

Samson includes a separate 2-inch Picatinny rail section and a QD sling swivel mount.

These components can be installed on the side of the Hannibal Rail to add accessory or sling mounting capability without permanently covering the rail with unnecessary attachments.

This modular arrangement allows the shooter to configure the rifle around the actual intended use rather than carrying unused rail sections.

Compatible with the Samson A-TM Folding Stock

The Hannibal Rail is designed to work with Samson's well-known A-TM folding stock, provided the correct Hannibal Rail version is selected for the rifle's barrel configuration.

That makes the Hannibal Rail a particularly natural companion for a Mini-14 or Mini Thirty already equipped with the Samson side-folding stock.
