The STEYR ARMS SCOUT II is the modern evolution of Jeff Cooper’s visionary “all-purpose rifle” concept. Developed over nearly a decade with Lt. Col. Cooper himself, the Scout II continues the tradition of unmatched versatility, rugged reliability, and lightweight portability—now enhanced with updated ergonomics and refined manufacturing.
This second-generation model retains the legendary attributes that made the original Scout famous: a compact 19" fluted cold-hammer-forged barrel, lightweight polymer stock with an integrated bipod, backup flip-up ghost-ring iron sights, and Steyr’s rock-solid SBS (Safe Bolt System) action. The Scout II preserves the rifle’s forward-mounted optic capability while also supporting traditional scope mounting via its full-length integrated top rail.
Steyr’s innovative two-position magazine system remains intact—allowing controlled single-loading when the magazine is partially lowered, or full magazine feed when seated normally. A second five-round magazine stores discreetly in the buttstock for fast reloads, exactly as Cooper intended.
The durable Mannox® metal finish, adjustable elastomer recoil pad spacers, and five push-and-turn sling-swivel positions make the Scout II a true modern field rifle built for real-world use. Whether for ranch carry, backcountry travel, or defensive readiness, the Scout II stands as one of the most capable and purpose-built bolt-action rifles ever designed.
