The Model 1873 Competition Carbine High Grade blends traditional Winchester craftsmanship with competition-focused upgrades designed for Cowboy Action shooting. The most notable enhancement is the performance-tuned, short-stroke lever-action that provides a shorter, smoother lever throw for faster cycling and improved speed from shot to shot.

Built with a steel receiver and classic lines, this configuration features extensive color case hardening on the receiver and key components for a distinctive look. The 20" polished blued, button-rifled steel barrel and full-length magazine tube maintain the traditional handling and balance the Model 1873 is known for.

Furniture is Grade III/IV walnut with an oil finish, paired with a color case hardened carbine buttplate. The top tang is drilled and tapped for an optional receiver-mounted peep sight (sight not included), offering a clean way to upgrade the sight picture without compromising the classic profile.
