THE SAFARILAND SCR CHEST RIG is a modular chest-mounted holster platform designed to reposition compatible Safariland holsters from the belt to the chest for improved accessibility during outdoor, tactical, and vehicle-based activities.
Unlike traditional chest holsters with permanently attached firearm shells, the SCR allows users to mount compatible Safariland 6TS, 7TS, and other three-hole pattern holsters directly to the chest rig platform. This allows shooters to retain the retention system and duty-grade security of their existing Safariland holster while relocating the firearm for easier access.
The SCR is especially useful in situations where belt carry becomes difficult or obstructed such as:
- Backpacking with waist belts
- ATV and UTV riding
- Horseback riding
- Hunting with heavy winter clothing
- Chest waders and bib overalls
- Plate carriers and load-bearing gear
- Vehicle and seated access situations
The platform uses three adjustable 1.5" nylon straps and a quick-attachment buckle system for secure one-handed attachment and removal. The mounting platform also supports cant adjustment and compatibility with Safariland accessory systems including the QLS.
