Six Individually Sealed ParticleMax P3 Filters
The MIRA Safety ParticleMax package contains six individually sealed particulate filters designed for compatible full-face masks, half-mask respirators and powered air-purifying respirators using a standard Rd 40 x 1/7-inch connection.
ParticleMax combines lightweight construction with U16 ULPA filter media. MIRA Safety currently states that the media stops at least 99.9995% of applicable viral and biological particulates while remaining substantially lighter than combination chemical-and-particulate canisters.
Dedicated Protection Against Particles and Aerosols
ParticleMax is intended for airborne particulate hazards, including applicable biological aerosols, fine dust and radioactive fallout particles. Viruses and bacteria are generally transported through the air in respiratory droplets, aerosols or other particles; the filter captures the carrier particles rather than treating a virus as a gas.
Effective respiratory protection requires a compatible mask, the correct filter, an airtight facial seal and proper use. A filter cannot compensate for an incorrectly sized mask, facial hair crossing the sealing surface or damaged respirator components.
Important Particulate-Only Limitation
ParticleMax does not contain activated carbon. It does not provide protection against chemical gases or vapors, toxic industrial gases, organic vapors, acid gases, ammonia, carbon monoxide, mercury vapor, radioactive iodine or oxygen-deficient atmospheres.
Buyers preparing for multiple hazard types should keep filters specifically rated for those hazards rather than treating ParticleMax as a general-purpose CBRN canister.
40mm NATO-Standard Interface
The Rd 40 x 1/7-inch threaded connection conforms to the interface used by STANAG 4155, EN 148-1 and compatible GOST respirators. The filters can be used with compatible MIRA Safety masks such as the CM-6M, CM-7M and CM-8M, as well as other properly functioning respirators using the same thread standard.
Thread size alone does not establish that a filter is suitable for a particular contaminant or working environment. Confirm the respirator, filter classification and identified hazard before use.
P3 Classifications and Hydrophobic Construction
MIRA Safety lists the ParticleMax under the P3 R classification of EN 143, TH3 P R SL under EN 12941 and TM3 P R SL under EN 12942. Its hydrophobic internal construction is designed to resist incidental moisture exposure and support use with compatible respiratory equipment during decontamination procedures.
Hydrophobic construction does not make the complete respirator assembly waterproof and does not eliminate the need to inspect or replace a filter following contamination, damage or improper exposure.
Twenty-Year Stored Shelf Life
Each sealed filter has a manufacturer-listed storage life of up to 20 years when kept in its original packaging under the prescribed conditions. Store the filters in a cool, dry location protected from hazardous substances, precipitation and groundwater.
MIRA Safety specifies a storage range of -58°F to 122°F (-50°C to +50°C) and maximum relative humidity of 98%. The expiration date printed on the individual filter controls and should always be checked when the filters arrive and before use.
Lightweight Respiratory Protection
Each filter measures approximately 110 mm in diameter by 55 mm high and weighs approximately 100 grams. MIRA Safety lists typical breathing resistance at approximately 60 Pa at 30 liters per minute, making ParticleMax a lightweight option when the identified hazard requires particulate filtration rather than gas-and-vapor protection.
