TOOLCRAFT 5.56 / .223 / .300 BLACKOUT NICKEL BORON BCG WITH CARPENTER 158 BOLT
Toolcraft Nickel Boron with the Carpenter 158 Bolt
The Toolcraft 5.56 Nickel Boron Bolt Carrier Group is a complete AR-15 operating assembly built around an 8620-steel carrier and a Carpenter 158 steel bolt. The current Huckleberry Arms inventory is specifically the C158 variant, eliminating the uncertainty that can exist with Toolcraft BCGs offered from mixed production lots using either 9310 or Carpenter 158 bolts.
Carpenter 158 is the traditional bolt steel associated with the military M16 specification and remains a desirable choice for shooters who want a conventional material specification in a premium-surface BCG. Toolcraft shot peens the bolt and subjects it to magnetic-particle inspection before assembly.
This configuration uses the standard 5.56-size bolt face and is suitable for properly configured AR-15 uppers chambered in 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, .223 Wylde and .300 AAC Blackout.
Why Nickel Boron?
The bright nickel-boron finish is more than a cosmetic departure from a conventional black carrier. Toolcraft describes its nickel-boron coating as a particularly smooth surface engineered to reduce friction between moving parts and limit wear. The slick surface also makes carbon and fouling easy to see during inspection and generally easier to remove during routine cleaning.
That combination makes nickel boron attractive for a rifle that sees substantial range use, training or suppressed shooting. Carbon accumulation around the bolt tail and carrier is readily visible against the light-colored surface, making it easier to evaluate the condition of the assembly when the rifle is opened.
Nickel boron does not make an AR-15 maintenance free. The bolt body, gas rings, cam-pin path and carrier rails should still receive appropriate lubrication. A low-friction surface works best as part of a properly lubricated operating system rather than as a substitute for one.
Why Carpenter 158 Matters
An AR-15 bolt experiences repeated high loading at the locking lugs every time the rifle fires. Material selection, heat treatment, machining and inspection therefore matter considerably more at the bolt than they do on many less-stressed components.
The current Huckleberry Arms lot uses Carpenter 158 steel rather than Toolcraft's alternative 9310 bolt configuration. C158 has a long history in M16-pattern bolt production and remains the material many builders specifically request when they want a traditional service-rifle bolt specification.
Material alone does not determine bolt quality. Toolcraft also shot peens the completed bolt to improve fatigue resistance and magnetic-particle inspects it for surface and near-surface discontinuities that may not be visible during ordinary inspection.
Full-Mass 8620 Carrier with Forward-Assist Serrations
The carrier is machined from domestic aircraft-quality 8620 steel and uses the full-mass profile associated with conventional AR-15 and M16-pattern operating systems. Forward-assist serrations allow it to function with compatible upper receivers equipped with a forward assist.
A conventional full-mass carrier provides a useful baseline for a general-purpose rifle because its reciprocating mass works with the action spring, buffer and gas system to regulate unlocking and cycling. The nickel-boron finish changes the surface characteristics without requiring the builder to move to a lightweight or radically altered carrier design.
Properly Staked Gas Key
The carrier key is manufactured from 4130 steel and attached with Grade 8 screws. Toolcraft stakes the screws to resist rotation and loosening under repeated firing and heat cycles.
This small detail matters. The gas key forms the connection between the rifle's gas tube and the internal gas system of the carrier. Leakage or movement at this joint can reduce the energy available to cycle the action and may cause intermittent short-stroking or failures to lock back.
Complete Bolt Carrier Group
This is a complete BCG rather than a stripped carrier or replacement bolt. The assembly includes the carrier, C158 bolt, extractor, ejector, gas rings, gas key, cam pin, firing pin and firing-pin retaining pin.
Toolcraft's current component specifications identify a 4140-steel extractor, three Mil-Spec-pattern gas rings, 4140 cam pin and a ground 8740-steel firing pin with a hard-chrome finish.
5.56, .223 and .300 Blackout Use the Same Bolt Face
5.56 NATO, .223 Remington and .300 AAC Blackout share the same basic case-head and bolt-face dimensions. A properly configured .300 Blackout AR therefore uses the same standard 5.56-size bolt and carrier group as a 5.56 rifle.
The barrel and chamber—not the BCG—determine which of those cartridges the upper is designed to fire. This mechanical compatibility must never be confused with ammunition interchangeability. .300 Blackout ammunition must not be fired in a 5.56 or .223 barrel.
Inspect, Lubricate and Verify Headspace
Before installation, inspect the carrier group and apply suitable firearm lubricant to the bearing surfaces, bolt body, gas rings and cam-pin contact areas. Confirm that the extractor and ejector move correctly, the gas rings provide resistance and the bolt rotates freely into and out of the locked position.
Headspace is determined by the relationship between the bolt and barrel extension. Whenever a different bolt is paired with a barrel that has not previously been checked with that exact bolt, headspace should be verified using appropriate gauges before live ammunition is fired.

TOOLCRAFT 5.56 NATO BLACK DLC FULL-AUTO BOLT CARRIER GROUP CARPENTER 158 BOLT TCFA-013556C158
Toolcraft 5.56 NATO Black DLC Bolt Carrier Group with Carpenter 158 Bolt
The Toolcraft 5.56 NATO Black DLC Full-Auto Bolt Carrier Group (TCFA-013556C158) combines Toolcraft's established bolt carrier group construction with a black Diamond-Like Carbon coating and a Carpenter 158 steel bolt. Designed for compatible AR-15 pattern rifles chambered in 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington, this complete BCG offers a premium surface finish, durable steel components, and a conventional full-auto profile carrier.
Black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) Coating
Unlike conventional black nitride or phosphate finishes, Toolcraft's Diamond-Like Carbon coating is applied using a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) process. DLC provides a hard, low-friction surface intended to resist wear and corrosion while simplifying cleaning and maintenance.
The black DLC finish gives this BCG a distinctive dark appearance while retaining the functional benefits of Toolcraft's DLC coating technology. Surface appearance may vary with lighting conditions and the underlying metal finish.
Carpenter 158 Steel Bolt
This specific Toolcraft configuration includes a Carpenter 158 (C158) steel bolt, distinguishing it from Toolcraft variants equipped with 9310 steel bolts. Toolcraft specifies magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and shot peening for its bolts as part of its published component specifications.
For customers comparing bolt carrier groups, the identified C158 bolt material eliminates the uncertainty associated with listings that do not specify which bolt alloy is included.
8620 Steel Full-Auto Profile Carrier
The carrier is manufactured from 8620 steel and features a traditional full-auto profile. This carrier style is also widely used in semiautomatic AR-15 platforms and does not, by itself, convert a semiautomatic firearm to automatic operation.
Toolcraft specifies a 4130 steel gas key secured with Grade 8 fasteners and proper staking. These construction details support the conventional direct-impingement operating system used in compatible AR-15 rifles.
Complete Bolt Carrier Group
The assembly includes the carrier, bolt, cam pin, firing pin, firing pin retaining pin, and associated bolt components. Toolcraft specifies a tool-steel extractor, extractor O-ring, and three mil-spec gas rings in its published bolt specifications.

TOOLCRAFT 5.56 / .223 / .300 BLACKOUT BLACK NITRIDE BCG WITH 9310 STEEL BOLT
Toolcraft Black Nitride with a Known 9310 Bolt
The Toolcraft 5.56 / .223 / .300 Blackout Black Nitride Bolt Carrier Group is a complete AR-15 operating assembly built around a full-mass 8620-steel carrier and a 9310 steel bolt. This Huckleberry Arms listing specifically identifies the bolt material as 9310, so the buyer knows exactly which Toolcraft configuration is being shipped rather than receiving a mixed or unspecified production variant.
That distinction matters because Toolcraft manufactures AR-15 bolts in both 9310 steel and Carpenter 158. Both materials are used across Toolcraft's product line, but they are different specifications. This particular BCG is the 9310 version.
The standard 5.56-size bolt face makes this carrier group suitable for properly configured AR-15 uppers chambered in 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, .223 Wylde and .300 AAC Blackout.
A Straightforward Working-Rifle BCG
Black nitride is an excellent fit for a general-purpose AR-15 because it combines a hard, corrosion-resistant surface with a smooth finish that is relatively easy to clean. Toolcraft's black-nitride treatment is a salt-bath nitrocarburizing process commonly referred to as SBN or QPQ.
Unlike a relatively thick plated coating applied over the component, nitriding modifies the surface of the steel with little dimensional change. The result is a deep black finish that improves wear and corrosion resistance while preserving the dimensions of the underlying component.
For a defensive rifle, hunting upper, training gun or spare BCG, the appeal is simple: proven conventional materials, a full-mass carrier and a finish that does not require special handling.
9310 Steel Bolt — Shot Peened and MPI Inspected
The bolt is manufactured from 9310 alloy steel. Toolcraft shot peens the completed bolt to improve fatigue resistance at highly stressed areas such as the locking lugs and subjects it to magnetic-particle inspection to check for surface and near-surface discontinuities.
9310 is not the same material as Carpenter 158, and this listing does not attempt to blur the two together. Shooters who specifically want the traditional Carpenter 158 bolt specification should select a Toolcraft C158 configuration instead. This model is for the buyer who intentionally wants the Toolcraft 9310 version.
Full-Mass 8620 M16-Profile Carrier
The carrier is machined from domestic aircraft-quality 8620 steel and uses the full-mass M16-style profile. Forward-assist serrations make it compatible with conventional AR-15 upper receivers equipped with a forward assist.
A full-mass carrier provides a useful baseline for a general-purpose rifle because carrier mass works together with gas pressure, action-spring rate and buffer weight to control unlocking and cycling. This is not a lightweight competition carrier or a radically altered operating component; it retains the conventional mass and geometry expected in a standard direct-impingement AR-15.
Properly Staked 4130 Gas Key
The carrier key is manufactured from 4130 steel and secured with Grade 8 screws. Toolcraft properly stakes those screws to resist loosening during repeated firing and thermal cycling.
Gas-key assembly is one of the less glamorous but more important details on an AR-15 BCG. The key forms the connection between the rifle's gas tube and carrier. Movement or leakage at this joint can reduce the operating energy available to cycle the action and cause inconsistent function.
Complete Bolt Carrier Group
This is a complete BCG rather than a stripped carrier. The assembly includes the carrier, 9310 bolt, extractor, ejector, three gas rings, gas key, cam pin, firing pin and firing-pin retaining pin.
Toolcraft's current component specifications identify a 4140-steel extractor, Mil-Spec O-ring, three gas rings, 4140-steel cam pin and a ground 8740-steel firing pin with a hard-chrome finish.
5.56, .223 and .300 Blackout Share the Same Bolt Face
5.56 NATO, .223 Remington and .300 AAC Blackout use the same basic AR-15 bolt-face dimensions. A properly configured .300 Blackout upper therefore uses the same standard 5.56-size bolt carrier group as a 5.56 or .223 upper.
The barrel and chamber determine which cartridge the firearm is designed to fire—not the BCG. This shared mechanical compatibility must never be confused with ammunition interchangeability. .300 Blackout ammunition must not be fired through a 5.56 or .223 barrel.
Inspect, Lubricate and Verify Headspace
Before initial use, inspect the carrier group and apply suitable firearm lubricant to the carrier rails, bolt body, gas rings and cam-pin contact surfaces. Confirm that the extractor and ejector move normally, the gas rings provide appropriate resistance and the bolt rotates completely into and out of the locked position.
Headspace is established by the relationship between the bolt and barrel extension. Whenever a bolt is paired with a barrel that has not previously been checked with that exact bolt, headspace should be verified using appropriate gauges before live ammunition is fired.

TOOLCRAFT .308 / 7.62X51 BLACK NITRIDE BOLT CARRIER GROUP WITH FORWARD ASSIST
A Practical Workhorse BCG for the Large-Frame AR
The Toolcraft .308 / 7.62x51 Black Nitride Bolt Carrier Group is a complete operating assembly for compatible large-frame AR rifles using the standard .308-size bolt face. It combines a full-mass 8620-steel carrier with a shot-peened, magnetic-particle-inspected 9310 bolt and the components required for installation into a compatible upper receiver.
This is the straightforward Toolcraft configuration for a builder who values proven materials, proper gas-key assembly and a durable low-maintenance finish more than decorative machining or branding. Forward-assist serrations allow it to function with compatible upper receivers equipped with a forward assist.
Why Black Nitride Makes Sense on a Working Rifle
The bolt, carrier and cam pin receive a black nitride treatment. Unlike a thick plated coating applied over the steel, nitriding modifies the surface of the component to create a hard, corrosion-resistant exterior while preserving the underlying dimensions.
The resulting surface is smooth, dark and relatively easy to clean, making black nitride a practical choice for a hunting rifle, range rifle or general-purpose .308 AR. It also avoids the bright appearance of nickel boron while maintaining a cleaner and more finished surface than a basic exterior phosphate treatment.
Black nitride does not eliminate the need for lubrication. The bolt, cam-pin path, carrier rails and gas-ring contact surfaces should still be lubricated according to the firearm manufacturer's instructions, particularly during initial break-in.
9310 Bolt with MPI Inspection
Toolcraft machines the bolt from 9310 alloy steel and shot peens it to improve resistance to fatigue at heavily stressed areas such as the locking lugs. The completed bolt is magnetic-particle inspected to check for surface and near-surface discontinuities that may not be visible during an ordinary visual inspection.
The bolt assembly uses a shot-peened, hardened D2 tool-steel extractor, extractor O-ring and three gas rings. These components work together to maintain extraction force, gas sealing and reliable unlocking as the operating system cycles.
Full-Mass 8620 Carrier and Properly Staked Gas Key
The heavy-duty carrier is machined from 8620 steel and uses a full-mass profile appropriate for a conventional large-frame direct-impingement operating system. The added mass works with the rifle's gas system, recoil spring and buffer to control the timing of extraction and return the bolt into battery.
The hardened 4140 gas key is chrome lined internally and secured with Grade 8 screws. Toolcraft stakes the screws with a heavy strike to resist loosening under repeated firing and thermal cycling. Proper gas-key sealing and secure fasteners are critical because leakage or movement at this joint can cause short-stroking and inconsistent cycling.
The assembly also includes an 8620-steel black-nitride cam pin and a centerless-ground 8740-steel firing pin with a hard-chrome finish.
Complete and Ready for Inspection, Lubrication and Installation
This is a complete bolt carrier group rather than a stripped carrier. It includes the carrier, bolt, extractor, ejector, gas key, cam pin, firing pin and firing-pin retaining pin.
Before installation, clean away any storage preservative or packaging residue, inspect the components and apply suitable firearm lubricant. Confirm that the gas rings provide resistance, the extractor moves correctly, the firing pin travels freely and the bolt rotates completely into and out of the locked position.
Large-Frame AR Compatibility Is Not Universal
Large-frame AR rifles do not share one universal commercial specification. The terms “AR-10,” “LR-308,” “DPMS pattern” and “.308 AR” are often used interchangeably in product descriptions even though receivers, barrel extensions, charging handles and other components can vary between manufacturers.
This BCG is intended for compatible DPMS/LR-308-pattern large-frame upper receiver groups. It is not intended for the smaller DPMS GII system or proprietary rifles that require a manufacturer-specific carrier assembly. Verify compatibility with the upper receiver, barrel extension and firing system before ordering.
The bolt-face dimensions are associated with .308 Winchester and 7.62x51 NATO. Other cartridges based on the .308 Winchester case may use the same general bolt face, but compatibility still depends on the barrel, chamber, magazine, gas system and specifications of the complete rifle.
Headspace Must Be Verified
Headspace is established by the relationship between the bolt and barrel extension. Whenever a bolt is paired with a barrel that has not already been checked with that exact bolt, the assembled firearm should be inspected with the correct headspace gauges before live ammunition is fired.
Do not attempt to correct excessive resistance by forcing the bolt into battery. Stop and verify receiver, barrel-extension, bolt and ammunition compatibility before proceeding.
Direct Toolcraft Supply and Lifetime Warranty
Huckleberry Arms purchases these bolt carrier groups in bulk directly from Toolcraft. Minor handling or contact marks may occasionally be visible from bulk packaging and transportation. These cosmetic marks do not affect the fit, function or performance of the carrier group.
Toolcraft manufactures its carriers at its facility in Marion, North Carolina and covers its products with a lifetime replacement warranty under the manufacturer's applicable terms.

CMMG FN PS90 10.4" 5.7X28MM SBR BARREL 1:9 M12X1LH – 57DF1C7
Purpose-Built 10.4-Inch Barrel for the FN PS90
The CMMG 57DF1C7 is a 10.4-inch replacement barrel designed for a lawfully registered FN PS90 short-barreled-rifle configuration. It preserves the PS90 platform’s original 5.7x28mm chambering while replacing the extended factory carbine barrel with a compact barrel manufactured specifically for the platform.
CMMG specifies a 1:9 twist, MT contour, 4140 chrome-moly steel construction, SBN surface treatment and M12x1LH muzzle threads. The listed weight is two pounds.
National Firearms Act Configuration
Installing this 10.4-inch barrel on a conventional stocked FN PS90 will create a short-barreled rifle regulated under the National Firearms Act. The firearm must already be lawfully registered in the appropriate configuration before the short barrel is installed.
For a nonlicensee making an SBR from an existing PS90, this ordinarily means receiving approval of an ATF Form 1 before making the firearm. Purchasing or possessing the barrel does not register the firearm or authorize installation. State and local restrictions may impose additional requirements or prohibit the resulting configuration.
5.7x28mm Chamber and 1:9 Twist
The barrel is chambered for 5.7x28mm and uses a 1:9 twist rate. These specifications are published by CMMG specifically for this FN PS90 barrel rather than for one of the company’s AR-pattern 5.7mm barrel and bolt-carrier kits.
This barrel should not be confused with a 9mm AR barrel, a CMMG Mk4/Mk57 barrel or a general-purpose AR-15 component. It is a platform-specific PS90 barrel.
4140CM Steel with SBN Treatment
CMMG lists the barrel material as 4140CM with an SBN treatment. The salt-bath-nitride process treats the steel’s surface to improve wear and corrosion resistance without applying a thick external coating.
This current specification supersedes older third-party descriptions that may refer to different steel, chrome lining or a phosphate finish. Use the specifications associated with current manufacturer part number 57DF1C7 when describing the barrel.
M12x1LH Muzzle Threads
The muzzle uses M12x1LH left-hand threads. CMMG offers a P90-style flash hider and an M12x1LH-to-1/2x28 PS90 thread adapter separately.
The barrel does not include a muzzle device or thread adapter. Select the appropriate component for the intended configuration and verify thread direction, caliber clearance, mounting requirements and suppressor compatibility before use.
FN PS90-Specific Fitment
This barrel is intended for the FN PS90 platform. It is not an AR-15 barrel and should not be selected for a CMMG Banshee, Dissent, Resolute, Mk4, Mk57 or another firearm simply because that firearm is also chambered in 5.7x28mm.
PS90 barrel replacement involves firearm disassembly and configuration considerations beyond an ordinary drop-in accessory change. Installation and final inspection should be performed by someone qualified to work on the FN PS90 platform.
CMMG Lifetime Quality Guarantee
CMMG backs its products with the company’s Lifetime Quality Guarantee. Warranty coverage and remedies are administered by CMMG according to its current terms and procedures.

FAXON 6.5 GRENDEL 6MM ARC TYPE II .136 9310 BOLT CARRIER GROUP
The Faxon 6.5 Grendel / 6mm ARC Type II Bolt Carrier Group is built for AR-15 shooters who want a complete, compatible BCG for modern Grendel and ARC builds. Instead of piecing together a carrier and bolt separately, this assembly gives the shooter a ready-to-install bolt carrier group built around the current Type II .136" bolt face depth standard.
That Type II specification matters. One of the most common sources of confusion in 6.5 Grendel builds has been the difference between Type I and Type II bolt face depths. Using the correct bolt with the correct barrel is critical for proper headspace, reliable function, and long-term performance. This Faxon BCG is designed for modern 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC barrels that use the Type II .136" specification.
Faxon builds this BCG with a 9310 tool steel bolt and a durable 8620 steel carrier. The bolt is fully heat treated, shot peened, and magnetic particle inspected to help ensure strength and material integrity. Faxon also uses an S7 extractor, chamfered rear bolt lugs, and installed spring, insert, and Crane O-ring to support reliable extraction and cycling.
The bolt and carrier receive a salt bath nitride finish for increased surface hardness, corrosion resistance, and smoother operation compared to traditional phosphate finishes. Faxon's Superfinished carrier body further reduces friction and fouling, helping the rifle cycle smoothly and making cleanup easier after long range sessions or field use.
Whether you are building a deer and hog rifle, a precision-oriented 6.5 Grendel AR, a 6mm ARC target rifle, or keeping a spare BCG ready for an existing upper, this Faxon Type II bolt carrier group gives the shooter a properly matched, high-quality foundation for cartridges that ask more from the bolt than standard 5.56 NATO.

FAXON 6.5 GRENDEL 6MM ARC TYPE II .136 9310 BOLT
The
Faxon Type II .136 Bolt is designed for shooters building or maintaining modern 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC rifles. Precision machined from durable 9310 steel and built around the current Type II Grendel specification, this bolt provides the strength, reliability, and compatibility serious AR builders demand.
One of the most common points of confusion within the 6.5 Grendel world has historically been bolt compatibility. Early Grendel rifles utilized differing bolt face depths, leading to the Type I and Type II terminology that still appears throughout the industry. The Faxon Type II bolt utilizes the modern
.136-inch bolt face depth specification that has become the industry standard for quality 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC builds.
Constructed from premium 9310 steel and finished with a durable black nitride treatment, this bolt is engineered to withstand the increased bolt thrust generated by cartridges such as 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC while delivering long service life and dependable reliability. The nitride finish enhances wear resistance and corrosion protection while providing smooth operation under demanding conditions.
Whether assembling a new hunting rifle, upgrading a precision AR platform, or keeping critical spare parts on hand, a quality bolt is one of the most important components in the rifle. The Faxon Type II bolt provides shooters with confidence that their rifle is built around modern specifications and proven materials.

AERO PRECISION 5.56 NATO AR-15 BOLT CARRIER GROUP NO LOGO BLACK NITRIDE APRH100616C
A Clean No-Logo Aero BCG for 5.56 AR-15 Builds
The Aero Precision APRH100616C is a complete 5.56 AR-15 bolt carrier group with a no-logo black nitride finish. It is built for the shooter who wants an Aero Precision BCG without the visible Aero “A” logo, making it a clean choice for mixed-brand AR-15 builds, subdued receivers, duty-style carbines, and spare-parts kits where function matters more than branding.
This is the bolt carrier group that finishes the upper receiver assembly. A barrel, gas block, gas tube, handguard, charging handle, and muzzle device may get more attention during a build, but the BCG is the moving heart of the rifle. It locks, unlocks, extracts, ejects, strips the next round, and resets the firing cycle every time the rifle runs.
Why Choose the No-Logo Black Nitride Version?
The no-logo carrier is useful when the builder wants Aero Precision quality without a visible manufacturer mark on the side of the carrier. That makes it a good fit for custom builds, matched receiver sets from other manufacturers, clone-inspired projects, and rifles where the owner prefers a cleaner, more neutral look.
The black nitride finish is a practical working finish for an AR-15 bolt carrier group. It gives the BCG a smooth black surface, helps with cleanup, and avoids the brighter appearance of nickel boron or chrome-style finishes. It is a strong choice for a practical rifle where the owner wants a simple, dark, low-profile BCG.
5.56 NATO AR-15 Compatibility
This BCG is intended for compatible AR-15 / M4E1-pattern builds using a 5.56 NATO bolt face. It is appropriate for many 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington AR-15 upper assemblies when the barrel, chamber, ammunition, magazines, gas system, buffer system, and headspace are correct.
It is not for Aero M5, AR-10, .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 9mm AR, 10/22, or other non-AR-15 platforms. It is also not the same as a caliber-specific BCG for cartridges that require a different bolt face. Confirm chambering, bolt compatibility, and headspace before live fire.
M16-Cut Carrier with Forward-Assist Serrations
The carrier is an M16-cut style carrier with forward-assist serrations. The serrations matter on upper receivers that use a functional forward assist, while the M16-cut carrier profile is the common full-mass carrier style used in many AR-15 builds.
Aero lists the carrier as 8620 steel and the bolt as 9310 steel. The gas key is properly staked, and the bolt is shot peened and HPT tested. Those are the types of details a buyer should care about when selecting a BCG for a real build instead of choosing only by finish or price.
Build and Installation Notes
A complete BCG still needs to be installed, lubricated, inspected, and tested as part of the finished rifle. Before live fire, confirm that the bolt moves freely in the upper, the gas key clears the gas tube, the cam pin is installed correctly, the firing pin retaining pin is seated, the extractor is assembled correctly, and the rifle passes normal function checks.
Headspace should be verified when pairing any bolt with a barrel, especially on a new build, a mixed-brand assembly, or a barrel with unknown round count. A quality BCG is important, but reliable AR-15 function is the result of the complete system: barrel, chamber, gas port, gas block, gas tube, carrier, bolt, buffer, spring, magazine, ammunition, and lubrication.
Who Should Choose This Aero Precision 5.56 BCG?
This is a strong choice for the AR-15 builder who wants a complete black nitride 5.56 bolt carrier group with no visible Aero logo. It fits new AR-15 builds, spare BCG setups, replacement parts planning, upper receiver completions, and Aero M4E1 / AR15 projects where the buyer wants a straightforward, factory Aero BCG.
It is less suitable for a buyer who needs Aero's PRO Series BCG, a phosphate BCG, nickel boron finish, a large-frame AR BCG, a pistol-caliber BCG, or a different bolt face for another cartridge. The value here is the specific combination of Aero Precision manufacture, no-logo carrier, black nitride finish, M16-cut 8620 carrier, 9310 bolt, forward-assist serrations, and 5.56 AR-15 compatibility.

CMMG 9MM 5" BARREL AND BCG KIT
The CMMG MkGs Barrel and BCG Kit allows you to build a Pistol Caliber Carbine using the Patent Pending Radial Delayed Blowback System. Unlike typical direct blowback systems, the RDB uses a bolt that is forced to rotate and unlock, slowing the BCG. This results in a lighter BCG for a lighter rifle, and less felt recoil than a straight blowback system.
CMMG MkG Barrel and Bolt Kits are designed to work exclusively with CMMG MkG Lowers, and a mil-spec upper receiver with enlarged ejection port. Other manufacturers’ receivers may work, but function or reliability is not guaranteed . For more information regarding fitment, check with the CMMG Tech Support team.
