IMPORTANT DATE AND USE DISCLOSURE: This is sealed legacy new-old-stock inventory. The packaging does not display a manufacture date, expiration date or verifiable lot date. Remaining shelf life and present protective performance cannot be established. Huckleberry Arms does not represent this inventory as in-date, NIOSH-approved or suitable for occupational, firefighting, immediately dangerous to life or health, oxygen-deficient or other life-safety use. Purchase only with this limitation understood.
Legacy Russian-Made MIRA Safety VK-450 Filter
The MIRA Safety VK-450 is a discontinued combination filter originally designed to address smoke, particulates, carbon monoxide and a range of chemical hazards. These filters were manufactured in Perm, Russia, by JSC Sorbent exclusively for MIRA Safety.
This small remaining lot consists of sealed legacy filters in their original silver packaging. The package is marked “Filter VK 450” and displays the classification A1B2E2K1HgNOCOSXP3 R D.
The printed classification and specifications describe the filter’s original design and testing. Because the supplied packages have no manufacture or expiration date, those markings must not be interpreted as a guarantee of current protective performance.
Package-Marked Filter Classification
The sealed package carries the combined classification A1B2E2K1HgNOCOSXP3 R D. Its printed information references protection against specified organic and inorganic gases, acid gases, ammonia, mercury vapor, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, specially designated substances and particulates under the applicable test conditions.
The package also states that use for protection from carbon monoxide or nitrogen oxides is single-use only. Laboratory breakthrough classifications and historical performance specifications are not a substitute for a current expiration date, a site-specific cartridge-change schedule or a properly administered respiratory-protection program.
40×3.5 GOST Thread Marking
The package specifically identifies the connection as a round 40×3.5 thread under GOST R 12.4.214-99. Buyers should verify the precise thread specification, sealing surface, mask requirements and manufacturer approval before attempting installation.
The phrases “40mm,” “40mm NATO,” “Rd40” and “GOST 40mm” are sometimes used broadly in product advertising. A shared nominal diameter alone should not be relied upon to establish safe compatibility with a particular mask.
Sealed Legacy New-Old Stock
The original VK-450 was marketed with a long unopened shelf life when stored in its sealed package. That shelf-life period begins with manufacture and remains subject to the manufacturer’s marked expiration date and required storage conditions.
No manufacture or expiration date appears on this inventory. Huckleberry Arms therefore cannot calculate or certify remaining shelf life. These filters are best treated as sealed historical, collection, training or reference inventory rather than current life-safety equipment.
Air-Purifying Filter Limitations
An air-purifying filter does not produce oxygen and must never be used in an oxygen-deficient atmosphere, a confined space, an unknown atmosphere or an environment that is immediately dangerous to life or health. It is not a substitute for an approved self-contained breathing apparatus used by trained firefighters or hazardous-materials personnel.
Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless, and filter service life can change substantially with concentration, airflow, humidity, temperature, storage history and other contaminants. Odor, taste or irritation cannot be relied upon as a safe end-of-service-life warning.
