The Ruger BX-1 is the compact factory magazine supplied with many of Ruger’s most popular .22 LR firearms. This genuine Ruger magazine holds 10 rounds of .22 Long Rifle ammunition and uses the proven rotary configuration associated with the Ruger 10/22 platform.
Manufactured to Ruger factory specifications, the BX-1 is an excellent choice for replacing a lost or damaged magazine, adding a dependable spare to a range kit or expanding the magazine supply for a compatible Ruger rimfire firearm.
Compact Rotary Design
Instead of arranging cartridges in a tall, extended column, the BX-1 positions its ammunition around an internal rotary carrier. This allows the magazine to hold 10 rounds while maintaining a compact profile beneath compatible firearms.
The low-profile design minimizes protrusion when shooting from a bench or supported position and makes the magazine easy to carry, store and organize.
Black Polymer Body with Steel Feed Components
The BX-1 combines a durable black polymer body with steel feed components. As an original Ruger factory accessory, its dimensions and feeding geometry are designed around compatible Ruger .22 LR firearms.
Compatible Ruger .22 LR Firearms
Ruger specifies the BX-1 for use with factory-original Ruger 10/22 rifles, SR-22 rifles, 22 Charger pistols and .22 LR Ruger American Rimfire rifles.
Compatibility applies to models chambered in .22 Long Rifle. This magazine is not intended for .22 WMR, .17 HMR or other rimfire chamberings.
Important Ruger 77/22 Fitment Note
The BX-1 will function in a .22 LR Ruger 77/22 rifle, but the magazine’s contoured base does not match the bottom profile of that rifle. Ruger recommends its JX-1 rotary magazine, item 90057, when the matching 77/22 base contour is preferred.
BX-1, BX-15 and BX-25 Comparison
The BX-1 provides a compact 10-round configuration with minimal projection below the firearm. The BX-15 increases capacity to 15 rounds in an intermediate-length magazine, while the BX-25 provides a full 25-round extended configuration. The BX-1 is the natural choice when compact dimensions and a 10-round capacity are priorities.
