Die Free Co DOS BOOT Magazine Extensions
The Die Free Co DOS BOOT is a replacement baseplate designed to add capacity, handling surface and supported-shooting utility to compatible Magpul PMAG GEN M3 magazines. Each DOS BOOT replaces the factory baseplate without permanently altering the magazine and adds two rounds of capacity.
Huckleberry Arms carries the DOS BOOT in three-packs with black or coyote finishes. This category is the dedicated home for current and future Die Free Co magazine accessories.
Designed Around the 20-Round PMAG
DFCO originally designed the DOS BOOT around the 20-round PMAG GEN M3. Adding two rounds produces a useful ten-percent capacity increase while retaining the lower profile that makes a 20-round magazine convenient for prone, bench and supported shooting.
The extended base provides additional clearance between the rifle and the ground while creating a broad contact surface that can be used as a magazine-supported monopod. Its convex shape allows small positional adjustments without requiring the shooter to lift and completely reposition the rifle.
Compatible PMAG GEN M3 Magazines
Die Free Co specifies the DOS BOOT for Magpul PMAG GEN M3 magazines in 10-, 20-, 30- and 40-round configurations. It replaces the original baseplate and adds two rounds to the magazine's existing capacity.
Compatibility should not be assumed with PMAG GEN M2 magazines, LR/SR .308 magazines, dedicated 300 Blackout magazines or magazines made by another manufacturer unless DFCO specifically identifies that combination as compatible.
Improved Magazine Handling
Aggressive tread and a contoured exterior provide more surface to grasp when removing a magazine from a pouch, stripping a magazine from the rifle or handling it with wet, cold or gloved hands. The added surface is useful even when the additional capacity is not the primary reason for choosing the DOS BOOT.
The extension is made from impact-resistant injection-molded polymer and installs without permanent magazine modification. Because the DOS BOOT changes both the magazine's dimensions and capacity, each completed magazine should be function-tested before being relied upon.
Black or Coyote
- Black: Matches standard black PMAG bodies and most conventional AR components.
- Coyote: Complements medium coyote tan, flat dark earth and mixed earth-tone equipment.
Each package contains three DOS BOOT baseplate extensions. Magazines are not included unless the individual product listing expressly states otherwise.
Magazine-Capacity Restrictions
The DOS BOOT increases magazine capacity by two rounds. Customers must verify that possession, installation and use of the resulting magazine capacity are lawful in their state and locality. A magazine that is lawful in its factory configuration may become restricted after a capacity-increasing extension is installed.
Huckleberry Arms will not ship magazine extensions to jurisdictions where the resulting product or intended configuration is prohibited. Additional shipping restrictions may apply.
Who Should Choose the DOS BOOT?
The DOS BOOT is especially useful for shooters running 20-round PMAG GEN M3 magazines from the bench, prone or around low cover. It also provides added capacity and handling surface for compatible 10-, 30- and 40-round GEN M3 magazines.
It is not the correct choice for a customer who needs to preserve the magazine's original legal capacity, requires an unchanged factory profile or uses an incompatible PMAG generation or magazine pattern.
